AWS, Google Cloud and PMI Exam Costs (Checked Oct 2026)

AWS exams cost USD 100 (Foundational), USD 150 (Associate) and USD 300 (Professional and Specialty); in Japan that is JPY 15,000, 20,000 and 40,000. Google Cloud’s Associate Cloud Engineer costs USD 125 and its Professional exams USD 200. PMI’s CAPM costs USD 225 for members and USD 300 otherwise, and the PMP USD 425 for members and USD 675 otherwise.

Every price below was read on the vendor’s own page on October 15, 2026 and links to it. AWS updates prices at least once a year, in May, so treat the table as a dated snapshot and check the vendor page before you book.

How much do AWS exams cost by level, in other currencies?

AWS sets one price per level and publishes it in several currencies. This is the table on AWS’s pricing page on October 15, 2026:

Three details from the same page matter for budgeting:

INR prices are accepted on the Pearson MindHub voucher store only.
AWS says exam prices are “updated at least annually in May to reflect updated foreign exchange rates”, and exchange rates may be updated more often with a minimum of 30 days’ notice.
Prices are valid for one exam attempt. Beta exams are offered at a discount from standard pricing.

The same page notes that a 50% voucher covers half of the exam price. It does not say where such vouchers come from, so check how you would get one before you plan around it.

How much do Google Cloud exams and renewals cost?

Google lists a registration fee on every exam page, plus tax where applicable. Where the exam page lists a shorter renewal exam, its price is below.

Validity comes from Google’s certification FAQ: Professional certifications are valid for two years, Foundational and Associate for three. The exam pages for Associate Cloud Engineer, Professional Cloud Architect and Professional Data Engineer also list renewal through designated Google Skills courses or skill badges, completed within the last year of the certification’s active date.

How much do the PMP and CAPM exams cost?

On PMI’s pages on October 15, 2026:

PMI says the exam fee is required only after your application is accepted. Sources: PMI PMP page, PMI CAPM page. Does the price change when an exam version changes?

Not in the cases AWS has announced so far. AWS’s September 2026 offerings post lists DVA-C03 at USD 150 (delivery from December 1, 2026) and SAP-C03 at USD 300 (delivery from November 17, 2026), the same as the exams they replace. The MLA-C02 beta, in English only, was priced at USD 75 as a beta; AWS gives January 14, 2027 for general availability, and the exam page still lists it as to be announced. What does renewal cost?

AWS: certifications are valid for 3 years (stated on the exam pages, for example Cloud Practitioner), and that page lists three ways to recertify: the “AWS Cloud Quest: Recertify Cloud Practitioner” course (no exam; check the page for its current terms), passing the latest version of the exam, or passing an Associate or Professional exam. If you retake an exam, the cost is the exam price from the tables above.
Google Cloud: the renewal exam prices above for Associate Cloud Engineer (USD 75), Professional Cloud Architect (USD 100) and Professional Data Engineer (USD 100), or the Google Skills route. For the other three Professional exams the exam pages do not list a renewal exam.
PMI: the pages above say PDUs per three-year cycle (60 for PMP, 15 for CAPM). They do not give a price for renewal, so we do not quote one.

USD 300, the Professional level price. The foundational AWS AI Practitioner exam is USD 100.

How much does the AWS CloudOps Engineer (SOA-C03) certification cost?

USD 150, the Associate level price (JPY 20,000 in Japan).

Do I pay again if I fail?

AWS says its prices are valid for one exam attempt, so yes, a retake is a new purchase. PMI’s PMP page says you may take the exam up to three times in one year; it does not state a retake fee, so confirm with PMI. Google’s exam pages list the registration fee per exam.

Are the prices the same everywhere?

Not necessarily. AWS publishes local-currency prices and updates them at least once a year; Google lists USD plus tax where applicable; PMI shows USD on the pages we read. Always confirm on the vendor page.
